Australia’s second largest state, Victoria, had the toughest lockdowns in the country to combat the coronavirus, but recently, it has seen a new upsurge in cases that has taken everyone by surprise and has reinforced the message that apparent success breads complacency which leads to negative outcomes. With the state’s premier Daniel Andrews ordering the lockdown of affected suburbs in an attempt to keep numbers under control, many Victorians are going back to Stage 3 restriction life, with police effectively ring-fencing affected suburbs. Steve and Ben discuss the latest on the coronavirus pandemic in Australia, as well as taking a look at the latest updates from America where the largest one-day total of confirmed cases was recorded, and in states previously thought to only have had mild outbreaks.
