One of the lesser reported aspects of the novel coronavirus is that it has already been mutating as it spreads around the globe. The NextStrain website has a detailed graphic providing an overview of this as the virus has travelled to different countries, while some researchers has reported that the virus mutated to a second strain some time in January which may potentially undermine immunity in those who gained the infection by the original strain.
