In a fake news environment, where is on to source reliable, unbiased news? The rise of community driven sites such as Reddit have established a new environment in which to consume news, with the argument growing stronger that these community driven sites are more dynamic and responsive in terms of engaging and debating the news, and often being ahead in delivering the news in progress over traditional news outlets which are continuing to struggle under the existing business model in the modern, digital world in which we live. Steve and Ben examine Reddit as an example of this new type of news delivery, as well as touching on specific news stories covered in it from the recent mass shootings in the United States and Trump’s recent hospital visit where he chose to discuss his inauguration crowd size while visiting victims of the El Paso mass shooting.
