The rise of the smartphone has led to apps taking over our experience of interacting with various aspects of the internet and the world. Dating, sex and relationships are no different, with prominent apps such as Tinder and Bumble providing instantaneous access and seemingly unlimited choice to anyone looking to hook up or find something more meaningful. But are these apps fostering a culture of superficial, and short-lived relationships? If things go south when you are dating someone, is swiping right to move on to the next person really the answer we want to encourage people to do?
