With the world turning its attention to renewable sources of energy, the conversation has also started to include how long term storage of electricity in the form of batteries factors in to the mix. With traditional lithium ion batteries not suitable for larger scale requirements while also presenting sustainability issues, alternative battery technologies are being explored including those based in salt and sand, amongst others. Steve and Ben discuss the potential for new battery technologies, as well as tech giant Apple facing resistance from its employees to return to work in the office, as well as the post-covid outlook for the tourism industry and the challenges it faces returning to business with a cautious public not rushing back to travel.
