After two tumultuous years living through lockdowns and other measures to counter the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic, many countries have now transitioned to a policy of living with the virus. With soaring case numbers due to the spread of the omicron variant, numbers that would have shocked people just a year earlier, living with the virus is bringing a whole host of new challenges. Steve and Ben examine the concept of living with the virus, and how with the exception of a new variant of concern causing further measures to be explored, that this policy is an attempt by governments to return life back to some semblance of normal, particularly in an environment where harsh measures to counter the coronavirus are unlikely to be tolerated by a weary public.
