Star Trek Discovery’s international home outside of North America in terms of streaming has historically been Netflix, but thanks to a deal where Paramount Pictures bought out Netflix’s stake in the high profile show, Star Trek Discovery has disappeared off Netflix just before the fourth season premiere, all in an attempt to drive subscription growth to Paramount Plus. Steve and Ben examine the continual fragmenting of the streaming market, and the audience’s tolerance for maintaining multiple streaming options. Steve and Ben also discuss what life may be like post pandemic and lockdowns, and how the old school life from 2019 may never come back.
