Apple held its One More Thing event announcing its first Macs running custom Apple Silicon in the form of a new MacBook Air, Macbook Pro and Mac Mini. Heralding a new era of significantly faster performance, much better battery life, and tighter integration between hardware and software, these news Macs are a leap forward for the platform, with Apple still to release more Mac products in the coming years based on these new custom silicon chips. Steve and Ben examine the first generation of this new Mac hardware and how they have made the Mac platform exciting again in an era where mobile devices such as the iPhone and iPad have taken centre stage for the past decade.
